Chrome Bumpers

So most people agree the impact bumpers look nasty, they are also heavy and even before I had bought mine I knew this was going to be a modification I would make. I bought a pair which are in good condition but will need re-chroming and new tops which it turns out will be expensive ... sigh.

There is a great article on this procedure here.

Anyway I found out that I had a metal cutting disk on my Ryobi tool I used for cutting tile so I was pretty excited (no comments from the peanut gallery please) to remove some unwanted metal. Basically you need to remove the lip which was added to keep the rubber cover looking like it belonged to the car.

In all the excitement I forgot to take picture of the before, so here you can see after with some primer to protect the surfaces for now. Next I need to locate and drill the holes for the supports.
